Assignment Details

Overview:

  • Responsible for the management, coordination, and completion of moderate to complex projects in the Information Technology department for the Tech Ops division.
  • Oversees all aspects of projects. Communicates project status to upper management.
  • Promotes a positive, productive team environment.
  • Reports to Director.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads on one or more moderate to complex projects.
  • Should be familiar with Waterfall and Agile project management approaches.
  • Must manage his/her projects' schedule, budget, communication, risks, issues, and
  • For Waterfall projects: scope, change requests
  • For Agile projects: stories, backlogs, sprints, scrums, deliveries
  • May, as needed, manage: resources (with HR's and upper management's assistance), vendor relationships (in collaboration with Procurement), user training (in collaboration with Business' training department), team member training.
  • Must also manage knowledge transfer to Support team and project close-out tasks.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitors and summarizes progress of project.
  • Prepares project status reports for upper management.
  • Prepare specified project documentation according to Tech Ops IT standards.
  • Builds and maintains positive work relationships with team members, Business Partners, vendors, and other departments involved in his/her projects.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A high degree of creativity is expected, with wide latitude given.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Provides direction, tools, and process support to less senior team members.
  • Has full knowledge in own discipline of project management.
  • Makes decisions within guidelines and policy.
  • Basic understanding of business principles (United systems).
  • Monitors compliance and adherence to standards.
  • Partners with business partners.
  • Ensures work is within project scope.

 

 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of IT project management (not project administration) experience required.
  • Ability to create project plans, not just tracking.
  • Agile and Waterfall experience required.
  • Microsoft Teams and TFS experience required.
  • Supply Chain background highly desired.

 

 

Education / Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Business Administration.
  • Agile ScrumMaster certification (CSM) desired.
